Clint Eastwood humbled Kevin Costner’s “big ego” on the set of “A Perfect World” in 1993. Scott Eastwood shared a “paraphrased” version of the “legendary story” on Monday’s episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast as an example of his dad maintaining “alpha-ness” while remaining “very calm” and “even keel” without “raising his voice ever.” The 40-year-old explained that Costner, 71, was “sort of going through maybe … a rise to fame” at the time and “maybe [had] a big ego, blah blah blah.” Kevin Costner was humbled on the set of “A Perfect World” by Clint Eastwood in 1993. You want to learn how to do this? You stay here with everybody else and you make the damn movie.'” The incident took place during Costner’s “rise to fame,” Scott explained. So when Costner “didn’t want to come out of his trailer,” Clint said, “Send him home then.” When Clint was reminded that his co-star was “in the scene,” the “Dirty Harry” star repeated his instruction. Scott continued, “So he sent him home and I guess they just went to Kevin and said, ‘Hey, you’re going to go home for the day.’ … He said, ‘What do you mean I’m in the scene?’ [And they said], ‘Well, I guess you’re not anymore.'” “Send him home then,” Clint said at the time.
