Published Sep 4, 2026, 12:58 PM EDT How to romance Anca, Lacra, and Crake Image: Rebel Wolves/Bandai Namco Entertainment Romance is in the air in The Blood of Dawnwalker as you quickly find out during the "Page-Turner" quest with Anca. However, there are a couple other characters that you can woo, like Lacra and Crake (aka Marat). While Coen's actions won't usually sabotage the romances, it's possible to miss romance scenes by picking the wrong dialogue options or following the wrong quest order. In the case of Lacra and Crake, half the work is finding them and obtaining their quest line. Here's how to romance Anca, Lacra, and Crake in The Blood of Dawnwalker. [Ed. note: This guide contains spoilers for The Blood of Dawnwalker, so continue at your own risk! Feel free to follow along or bookmark this page and come back if you get stuck.] Every romanceable character in The Blood of Dawnwalker The Blood of Dawnwalker contains three romanceable characters: Anca, Lacra, and Crake. You're free to romance all three of them within the same playthrough, in any order. You're most likely to start with Anca, though, whom you've met in the prologue. Lacra is usually second, whereas Crake's romance may take a while, as it comes with more requirements. Anca: Human female. She's a herbalist from Laslea Glen. Lacra: Female vampire. She's on a revenge mission. Crake: Human male. He's the leader of the Manumits, the rebellion. His real name is Marat. In The Blood of Dawnwalker, you "complete" a romance by following the love interest's quest line until you reach the steamy cutscene at the end. Before we dive into the details below, know that there's little risk of missing a romanceable character unless you rush into Greifberg Castle (and finish the game early). That said, it is possible to (accidentally) reject romanceable characters, so keep reading if you'd like to avoid that sad fate. How to romance Anca in The Blood of Dawnwalker Image: Rebel Wolves/Bandai Namco Entertainment As a fellow resident of Laslea Glen, Coen meets Anca during The Blood of Dawnwalker's prologue. Here, you'll get your first opportunity to share an intimate moment. During the "Withering Away" quest, when Anca suggests a Latin reading session, accept this proposal to start the flirtatious "Page-Turner" quest. Insist on reading the book with the red cover to flirt with Anca. Don't worry if you've missed this moment; it shouldn't hurt your chances with Anca later on. For the remainder of Anca's romance, keep in mind that Anca is human, so if you speak with her in vampire form, with less than one chunk of HP left, you'll kill her. Coen can't romance a corpse, so that'll be the end of this love story — and Anca's quest line. To romance Anca in The Blood of Dawnwalker, complete the following quests. Though most choices won't ruin the romance, it's best to flirt as much as you can. Here's how to do so: "Echoes of Silenced Bells": You will receive this quest automatically upon completing the prologue. Pick any ending, though Anca will be happier if you allow her to do the spell. "Between the Words": Meet Anca at the old inn. Offer to make tea for her, then say "It's my pleasure" after you give it to her. After inspecting the book, say "Always? What do you mean?" followed by "Your feelings toward me." "Where Old Devils Lie": At the old inn, say "Thank you for trying to help me" (which is a white dialogue option) followed by "That's what you see me as — a friend?" After looking at the map, say "Who knows what else I have in store for you." When you set off to find the ancient temple, you can tell Anca you care for her while gazing at the lake. "Stronger Than Achilles": At the start of this quest, you have the option to leave Anca at the temple and return later — if you do so, make sure every monster in the temple is dead! When you reach the idol, let Coen insert his hand (three times total) instead of Anca. When you hit a dead end, you can confess your love by saying: "I'd do anything for you," and "I love you." Finally, at the Font of Life, Anca will be happiest if you let her use the Font. You can still romance Anca if Coen refuses to put his hand in the idol's mouth and takes the Font of Life for himself, but you'll miss some flirtatious conversation. Back at the old inn, you must pick the following lines to unlock Anca's romance scene: Pick: "I beg to differ," or "I meant what I said." Say: "Let's do something fun for once." Say: "Screw decency. I want you, too." How to romance Lacra in The Blood of Dawnwalker Image: Rebel Wolves/Bandai Namco Entertainment Although Vicho's quest, "A Study In Crimson," will also point you to Lacra, the quickest way to find Lacra in The Blood of Dawnwalker is to head to Svartrau City directly after the prologue and visit the alley in the northeast, near the Svartrau Cathedral's courtyard. Doing so will start a quest called "A Friend Like This." Since Lacra is a vampire, there's no risk of killing her. There's one very important point of no return that can lock you out of this romance, though: After completing "Our Rotten Roots," you must wait one day and speak with Lacra again. You will obtain two quests: "The Night of Horrors" and "Midnight Reckoning." Complete "The Night of Horrors" first, or you won't be able to romance Lacra anymore. Here's a complete list of every quest you should do to unlock Lacra's romance scene, in order. Note that it's possible to oppose Lacra at several points in the story and still romance her. "A Friend Like This": Fight Lacra and feel free to spare the Uriashi afterward. "Song of the Mountain": You can agree to feed on the human together, but it won't lead to any flirting. When you reach the Uriashi village, you can oppose Lacra and take the peaceful route. "Hive and Seek": Still no flirting, just complete the quest any way you like. "Our Rotten Roots": At some point, the path splits in two, and Lacra expresses her wish to go right. You can agree with her, but if you'd like to learn more about Lacra's past, go left. She'll try to stop you, and she'll be angry, but she'll forgive you if you apologize in the next conversation. You can still romance Lacra if you do so. "The Night of Horrors": Feel free to ask follow-up questions when Lacra bares her heart to lure the wisps. Your chance to romance her comes at the end of this quest, when you find the mandrake. To romance Lacra in The Blood of Dawnwalker, it's important to pick the correct dialogue options at the end of "The Night of Horrors." Choose the following: Eat the mandrake. Follow Lacra. Drink from her wrist. Kiss Lacra. How to romance Crake in The Blood of Dawnwalker Image: Rebel Wolves/Bandai Namco Entertainment To meet Crake for the first time in The Blood of Dawnwalker, complete "The Firebrand" and its subsequent "Shadows in the Woods" quest. You can start this quest line by inspecting Vlad's house in Laslea Glen (after the prologue) and visiting Mert's Mill. However, since your notoriety is probably low, Crake will ask you to become notorious (infamy level 4 or higher in the court system) first. You won't see him again until that happens. When you've reached infamy level 4, the Manumits will send you a message, which starts Crake's quest line. Your decisions won't affect the romance much, but remember that Crake is a human, so you must take care not to let him die. It's also possible to accidentally kill him in vampire form if you're low on blood. Beware of the point of no return; if you start "Rise at Dawn" before "Distant Shadows," you can no longer complete this romance! Neither "Who Pulls the Strings" nor "Rise at Dawn" are required for Crake's romance — feel free to do both quests afterward. With that in mind, here's a list of quests to complete if you want to romance Crake: "Where Loyalty Lies": No flirting or important choices yet. Just do as Crake says. "What Hunts the Night": When Coen and Crake flee the Middens, be sure to help Crake escape. If you don't, he'll die. Later, when you're hiding together, there's an opportunity for an intimate conversation. Pick: "Don't you want to talk about Sara?" followed by "You sure? You look upset" and "I know what it's like to lose someone." Next, say: "Maybe we could talk about them, instead," followed by the white line "Just one more thing — you can count on me." "What Moves the Dead": At the end of the quest, say: "First, I'll walk you back to the hideout." This requires one time segment, but you'll get the opportunity to take off Crake's armor and dress his wound. You can still romance Crake if you don't do this, but you'll miss a good amount of flirting. "Distant Shadows": You won't obtain this quest automatically, so make sure you don't miss it! After "What Moves the Dead," find Crake in the manumit hideout in Svartrau City and say "You wanted to discuss something with me." Complete "Distant Shadows" — it doesn't matter if you mess up, Crake will run off anyway. When Drogos talks to you, be sure to reply with "I'll go talk to him" to obtain the next quest. "A Closer Look": Follow Crake to the cliff south of Svartrau City. This is a timed quest, so don't wait too long! Your opportunity to romance Crake arises during the "A Closer Look" quest. You must pick the following dialogue options: Pick "You're hiding something" or "I'm worried about you." Pick one of these lines: "I came here because I care for you," "I know what this is about," or "Please, just tell me the truth." Say: "Hey. Nothing you say can change the way I see you." Kiss him back. The Blood of Dawnwalker is a time-sensitive, narrative RPG where your actions and decisions matter.
