If it feels like everyone around you is starting a new analog hobby, it’s true. You’re not hallucinating. Just in case you needed more proof, Pinterest just released its 2026 Hobbies Trend Report and it basically confirmed just as much. Gen Z has been looking for more and more offline hobbies, so it makes sense that, according to the report, more than half of them said “a hobby contributes to their joy.”Pinterest analyzed search data from the last year and found massive increases in a ton of analog hobbies, like learning astrology, setting up an at-home coffee station with homemade syrups, pressing flowers, and more. The report grouped hobbies like these, and many others, into nine categories: Kitchen Witch, Cosmic Reset, Home Café Engineering, Backyard Botanist, Weekend Equestrian, Secondhand Sidequest, Handmade Hacker, Curated Clutter, and Casual Crafter.Some of the biggest search increases included hobbies like making a birthday magazine (1,713%), banana coffee syrup recipe (916%), crystals and meanings (606%), and herbal apothecary (595%), among others, according to the report. All of these have one thing in common: the people are truly yearning to make something and focus on one thing at a time, versus having our attention spans constantly attacked by endless scrolling.This doesn’t mean we’re abandoning our phones, of course. After all, this data is about finding a hobby from the internet and then going offline to do it. And if anything, these hobbies prove that many of us are trying to actually do some of the things we see online.From developing your own spice blends and canning to taking up nature photography and crocheting, there seems to be a collective desire to get back to more tactile creativity and isolated focus. People are looking for ways to dive into their interests while also enhancing in their day-to-day lives. And that’s something we can always get behind.
