| Games News Reporter Published November 2, 2026 11:49am Updated November 2, 2026 11:49am Oh thank goodness, this isn’t exclusive to France (Argos) Argos has announced a midnight launch party for Nintendo’s remake of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, but it’s only happening in one location. Midnight launch events aren’t as common as they used to be but some retailers still do them, albeit at only a few locations. They appeal to older gamers’ nostalgia for in-person fan meet-ups and for being one of the first people in the country to get hold of the game. A couple of UK retailers held midnight launches for the Nintendo Switch 2, but this week, Nintendo is running one itself, for The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, the Switch 2 remake of the original 1998 game. Aside from being a nostalgic throwback, it might also be because there’s a proper Nintendo Store in London now, which is the only place in the UK to be hosting the midnight launch. How to attend the midnight launch of The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Ocarina Of Time’s midnight launch will take place on Wednesday, November 4 at the Argos store in Tottenham Court Road, London. It’s only a six minute walk from Tottenham Court Road Station, but you can also take the Northern line on the London Underground to Goodge Street Station and walk from there. Although the store will no doubt be prioritising Zelda during the event, you can find merchandise for other Nintendo franchises, like Super Mario, Pokémon, and Animal Crossing. It’s not an especially big store, and it’s bound to get crowded very quickly, so we recommend arriving as early as possible. Especially since the store will be offering a limited number of exclusive bonuses with your copy of Ocarina Of Time. The most important is that glorious replica of the original black and gold Nintendo 64 box, which we feared would only be available in France. The box will come with purchases of Ocarina Of Time and can be used to store the game in. Additionally, you can receive a free keyring of the titular ocarina, although it’s obviously too tiny to actually use as an instrument. As a reminder, there are officially licensed electronic ocarinas being sold that you can use to play songs in the game via the Switch 2’s sound recognition feature, although they already appear to be sold out in the UK. This Nintendo Store opened back in April and is meant to only be a temporary pop-up location, but Nintendo has never said how long it intends to keep it around. It’s technically just an ordinary Argos store, but around half the floor space has been given over to rare Nintendo merch that isn’t sold anywhere else in the UK. With any luck, it will remain a permanent fixture or Nintendo will opt to open a larger, dedicated Nintendo Store within London. After all, it’s finally giving the city a permanent Pokémon store, even if we have to wait until 2029 for it. Latest London news Will you be picking the remake up at launch?
