The Best Revenge Thriller Trilogy Since John Wick Is About to End With a Bang [Exclusive]

Published Jul 28, 2026, 9:09 AM EDT If John Wick has taught us anything, it's that you don't mess with a bloodthirsty action hero and their dog, but what if you swap an old and battle-hardened Keanu Reeves with an angry, wise-cracking, confident young woman? That thesis was put to the test in the 2020 cult classic Becky, which starred Lulu Wilson as a young girl who embarks on a quest for vengeance against a group of neo-nazis led by Kevin James' character, but her story doesn't end there. The Wrath of Becky brought back the Little Nazi Hunter That Could for another bloody adventure, this time rescuing her dog from a group of eager white supremacists spearheaded by Sean William Scott's character. Now, 6 years after Becky's racist-killing days began, she's back for what might be her most dangerous mission yet in The Last Temptation of Becky. Going from a naive young girl to a capable teenage killer all the way to an adult CIA agent, Becky's newest adventure takes her to Europe to confront General Wilhelm Reuss (Neil Patrick Harris), who doesn't just see himself as a Nazi sympathizer, but as the true successor of the Third Reich itself. Still, some questions for fans remain, such as what the deal is with that key the first film's villains were looking for and how it connects to Agent Kate Montana (Kate Siegel). One fan who had those same questions was Collider's Joe Schmidt, who recently had the chance to chat with star Lulu Wilson and Last Temptation of Becky director Jenn Wexler. Wexler assured fans that "It's been a long time coming" and questions from the first movie will be answered in the upcoming film, and Wilson even went as far as to compare Becky's journey to Matt Damon's Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey with her own statement: "This movie... is a journey. It is, it should be up there with The Odyssey right now. It's like it's a huge dream. Without spoiling anything, we kill someone who a lot of people want to kill." 'The Last Temptation of Becky' Will Answer Some of the Cult Franchise's Biggest Questions Image via Post Film In addition to producing three films in six years, the Becky franchise has also benefited from having different filmmakers direct each installment. That trend continues with Jenn Wexler, who also expressed how much of a fan she's been of the IP since it first debuted in 2020. Not only that, but she's also just as excited for action fans to get some answers about the Becky universe, as seen in another snippet from her conversation with Schmidt: "I've been a fan of the franchise since the 1st one, and, some of these questions that I mentioned, I was genuinely curious about since the first movie. 'What is that key? Why do they want it so bad? And, who are these guys? What's going on with them?' This movie, for me, when I read the script, I was really excited that we do get more backstory. We do get more answers about who those guys in the first one were. At the end of the second one, um, when Kate [Siegel] is like, 'Do you want to be the youngest member of the CIA?' When I was watching that movie, I was like, 'Oh my god, you're not gonna leave us there.' That's then what happened. So, reading the script, I was like, yes, this movie's all about how she's the youngest member of the CIA. I want to just watch this movie as a fan. And then, getting to step into it and be part of this world, it was just so fun. And of course, I love young female protagonists, and Becky is such an icon." The Last Temptation of Becky premiered at Fantasia Festival 2026 and will be released wide later this year. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
