THE iconic Audi A2 is finally coming back to the UK after it was axed more than 20 years ago. It is being reintroduced to the market as an entry-level electric crossover with a retro design. Audi bosses will be positioning it as their entry point into their electric range, filling the gap left behind by the axing of the A1 and Q2 models. Technically, the car will use the Volkswagen Group’s MEB electric platform, putting it in a similar class to the VW ID.3 in terms of overall size and mechanical specs. While Audi hasn’t released dimensions yet, observers expect the A2 to be a similar size to the Volkswagen ID,3. The interior of the new A2 includes an array of digital screens and black fabric and can go from 0-62mph in just eight seconds. It is much more modern in design than previous models and will include small square headlights that will sit inside the traditional Audi single-frame grille.
