Sometimes a movie doesn't have to be perfect, amazing, or groundbreaking—simply needing to be a fun time for the viewers that they can have fun with for the time they're watching. An incredible project can be fun, and a bad one can be just as much so—for different reasons, but enjoyable ones. Superhero films specifically have a lot of "fun" products among them. So, with Marvel being the current reigning king (for now) over superhero cinema, they have a large number of films that are a boat load of fun for audiences everywhere. The most fun of the three movies, though, is none other than Deadpool & Wolverine. This 2024 multiverse romp never lets up once it gets rolling and it's all the fun enjoyable for it. The opening of the movie is literally Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) fighting off Time Variance Authority agents with the impenetrable, adamantium skeleton of the late Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) from Logan. People had been asking for the Merc With a Mouth and the three-clawed X-Man to team up for quite some time, so when they decided to sit down and do it, they made sure it was going to be an extremely entertaining movie. With fun action, great humor, cameos from the multiversal grave—notably Chris Evans's Johnny Storm, Wesley Snipes's Blade, Channing Tatum's Gambit, and more—all combined with a genuine heart at the center of the film, Deadpool & Wolverine ends up being one of Marvel's most fun films of recent years. 7 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' (2017) Image via Sony Pictures Releasing After making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the marvelous airport sequence of Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man (Tom Holland) had a lot of expectations to live up to after such a grand entrance in the 2016 epic. Just one year later, fans got to see him on the big screen once again in his first-ever solo film, Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tom Holland's iteration of the hero's first lone outing ended up being such a blast for general audiences and Spidey fans alike. Spider-Man: Homecoming is a true coming-of-age tale at its heart—akin to the likes of old John Hughes movies. Because of this, there's a youthful, preppy energy to the plot and visuals that allows it to really thrive as a fun, lighthearted movie about coming into one's self in high school. Not to mention, on top of this, there's plenty of awesome action, featuring a classic Spider-Man villain, The Vulture (Michael Keaton), to scratch the action itch that comes with every superhero flick. 6 'Spider-Man' (2002) Image via Sony Pictures Releasing Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man movie was groundbreaking for a plethora of reasons when it was released in 2002. What it continues to be remembered for, though—aside from the cultural impact it's had—is the fact that it is still one of, if not the best, adaptations of the early John Romita Sr. era of Spider-Man comic books. What sets Spider-Man apart is that the film is wholly unashamed of the comic book property it's based on. Raimi knows that he's making a comic book movie and has so much fun leaning into it and allowing the product to be fun and campy while still having a decent emotional weight when it needs to. With a good first film—but massively underrated—and a second film that many agree is one of the worst Marvel movies, people were unsure what to think of a third Thor flick. Director Taika Waititi cooked up an incredibly lovable, colorful, hilarious, and, well, fun movie. This not only allows it to be the best The Avengers film, but it's also become one of the highest-grossing movies of all time—resting nicely in the top 10. 3 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' (2023) Image via Sony Pictures Releasing Something that makes the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse franchise so special is the gigantic amount of attention to detail they have. After the first movie, people were extremely excited to see that the same amount of love, blood, sweat, and tears was placed into the sequel project, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Such work results in movies that are a plethora of fun. Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) returns in this second entry with a new villain—The Spot (Jason Schwartzman)—that starts as a total goofball and becomes one of the greatest Spider-Man threats of all time. Just like the first movie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's visuals, comedy, character work, and action make it one of the most fun superhero movies ever made. 2 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (2014) Image via Marvel Studios The MCU had a great year in 2014, with a serious smash-hit in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and a fun one in Guardians of the Galaxy. Not many people were sure of what to think of this new Marvel property until they were having a plethora of fun with James Gunn's film in theaters.
