Teyana Taylor’s 2026 VMAs Look Is Giving High Fashion Vintage Lingerie

Teyana Taylor is presenting and nominated at the 2026 VMAs tonight, and—as per usual—showed up on the red carpet looking ready to top every single Best Dressed list. The VMAs are historically the awards show to experiment with a look (see: Gaga’s meat dress), and Teyana arrived wearing a plunging beaded lace dress festooned with feathers reminiscent of a vintage robe. Speaking to Elle about picking the perfect look, Teyana (who’s nominated for Best Collaboration tonight) said “Honestly, I literally go with the flow. I go with how I feel, but I’m also a big theme girl. A theme hates to see me coming. Even if it’s something as small as, ‘I want to go on a Sex and the City-type brunch,’ I’m going to dress according to how I feel that day. Even right now, I’m on my way to work directing my first feature film, and my team and I wear these uniforms. Oh my gosh, I love it. But even with the uniforms, it’s all about how we style them. Merchandise it up with some shoes, you know? That’s what it’s about for me. I dress the way I feel. Even my street style has a certain aesthetic to it. It still tells a story.”She added, “I love a good jacket. I’ll put on the same jacket every single day, dead ass. Or a good vintage tee. I’m not really an ‘I wore it one time, now keep it pushing’ kind of person. I like to wear what I want to wear. If I have a really good sweatsuit, a real good one, I’ll wear that for a week straight. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got a washer and dryer in my house! Or a good pair of Calvin Klein jeans. Once I’m really, really comfortable with something, it becomes a uniform to me. Even if I’m styling it differently, I will repeat some shit for sure.”
