NOVEMBER 8, 2026 22:31Teva Pharmaceuticals is "disappointed" by the Irish Hospital Consultants Association's decision to boycott its products, the Israeli company told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday. The Irish consultants’ representative body passed a motion last week encouraging a boycott of products made by the Teva Pharmaceuticals, and urging members to avoid prescribing, administering, or using Teva Pharmaceuticals’ products “where clinically appropriate and equivalent alternatives are available” and as long as it does not compromise patient safety, continuity of treatment, or clinical outcomes.A full prescription boycott would affect 12.5% of all prescriptions in Ireland (the amount estimated to be produced by Teva). The motion, according to the Irish Examiner, said it would support and defend clinicians who choose not to use the products on "ethical grounds."Teva told the Post that it is proud to have been producing medicines in Ireland for over 30 years - medicines that patients and healthcare professionals "rely on every day both here and around the world." Both ended the commercial partnership (sponsorship and exhibition presence, for example) rather than boycotting the products themselves.Follow us on Google
