Tesla has expanded its Indian charging network with a new Destination Charging facility in Thane, while launching its Refer and Earn programme alongside an Experience event showcasing the Model Y range.Tesla has expanded its charging footprint in India with four new 11kW Destination Chargers at Lake Shore Thane.Tesla has opened a new Destination Charging facility at Lake Shore Thane in Maharashtra, expanding its charging network in India to seven locations. The new site has four AC Destination Chargers, each rated at 11kW, and is located in the complex’s UB parking area.The charging facility is aimed at Tesla owners visiting the shopping and dining destination, with the company claiming 99.95 per cent uptime. With the addition of the Thane site, Tesla’s Indian charging network now comprises 20 Superchargers and 24 Destination Chargers.Alongside the charging station, Tesla is hosting its first Experience event in Thane from August 12 to 19 at the Lake Shore Thane Courtyard. Visitors can see the Model Y and Model Y L through guided walkarounds, while test drives can be booked through Tesla’s website.Tesla launches Refer and Earn programmeTesla has also introduced its Refer and Earn programme in India. Existing owners can refer friends or family members who purchase a Tesla and receive 11,000 towards Supercharging or a new Tesla once the referred customer takes delivery. The first 10 customers who order a new Tesla using a referral link will also receive 22,000 off the purchase price.Tesla Model Y and Model Y LTesla currently offers the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive in India at Rs 50.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV has a claimed WLTP range of up to 500km, a 0-100kmph time of 5.9 seconds and 2,138 litres of cargo space. The Model Y L, meanwhile, is a three-row, six-seat all-wheel-drive SUV priced from Rs 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
