But while you might expect this to be a move to combat rising costs and help those struggling to afford the weekly shop, the actual reason might surprise you. The retailer will be gifting the essentials to holidaymakers touching down in the UK today, at London Southend Airport. And only people arriving on certain flights will be eligible to claim the freebies. As part of a partnership with easyJet holidays, Tesco will be running a pop-up known as the ‘Back From Holiday Shop’. This will be located in the baggage claim area of London Southend Airport on July 29. Tesco and easyJet (a Clubcard reward partner) will be offering the ‘ultimate welcome home’, giving away items Brits say they most want after returning from a trip – such as fresh milk, tea bags, and a loaf of bread. Travellers arriving at the airport on easyJet flights between 12 pm and 5 pm will be able to take a complimentary bag. The eligible flights include: EZY4661 – arriving from Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) at 11:45 EZY5706 – arriving from Alicante (ALC) at 12:55 EZY5728- arriving from Malta (MLA) at 14:30 EZY7511 – arriving from Faro (FAO) at 16:10 EZY5726 – arriving from Gran Canaria (LPA) at 16:35 What’s in the Tesco bag? Those able to nab some freebies will be treated to: Tesco Finest 80 English Breakfast Tea Bags, 250g Tesco British Semi Skimmed Milk, 2 pints Tesco Finest Wholemeal Seeds & Grains Loaf, 800g Tesco Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce, 420g Tesco Yorkshire Pudding Batter Mix, 130g Tesco Finest Mature English Cheddar Cheese, 350g Tesco Extracts Aloe Vera Body Lotion, 400ml Tesco Custard Cream Biscuits, 400g Tesco Carrots, 500g Tesco Whole Cucumber Tesco Finest Strawberries, 300g Tesco Non Bio Liquid Detergent Super Concentrated 60W, 1.5L There are some rules for claiming a freebie, though. The bags are restricted to one per household, are subject to availability while stocks last, and the exact items inside may vary. How to win a Tesco or easyJet voucher If you aren’t coming back from a holiday today, you could still win money off your groceries, as Tesco is also running a competition with voucher prizes. Taking place on Instagram, Tesco and easyJet holidays will be giving away ten £250 vouchers for Tesco to be spent in-store, and one lucky entrant will also win a free holiday worth £1,500.
