The honeymoon horror unfolded at Sittong Aura Homestay in the Darjeeling hills of West Bengal, India, on September 13. The newlyweds, from Uttar Dinajpur district, had arrived at the guest house that morning after booking their stay online following their recent marriage. But within hours, their honeymoon had become a desperate fight to save Nikita. He further alleged that immediate assistance was not provided as his badly burned wife desperately needed help. According to the complaint, Nikita was eventually rushed to Anandaloke Hospital on Sevoke Road in Siliguri. She was later transferred to Desun Hospital, with Souvik describing her condition as critical. He said he also suffered burns to his hand during the terrifying ordeal. Souvik has demanded police action against the guest house authorities and the worker involved. He also alleged attempted murder, although no evidence establishing deliberate intent has been reported. Sittong Aura manager Dipen Tamang insisted the homestay team had made every possible effort to rescue Nikita. He added that police had carried out verification in connection with the shocking incident.
