Local council authorities insisted that a safety perimeter had been established ahead of the chaotic fireworks display. The authorities urged spectators to follow safety instructions and respect restricted areas during public events. It comes just days after a huge firework explosion killed at least ten people and injured 64 at a festival in central Mexico, officials say. The huge blast collapsed a wall in front of the Nuestra Señora de la Luz church – trapping several people beneath. Horror footage showed panicked revellers fleeing the blaze.
