Tensions boil over on Stacey Solomon’s £1k-a-night Turkey holiday as ‘miffed’ Joe Swash fears being left behind by wife

GRINNING broadly beside their large brood Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon looked to be on the perfect holiday. But behind the endless social media snaps and TikTok videos, I’m told their latest trip to Turkey wasn’t entirely smooth sailing and insiders fear it could have further widened the gap between the 36-year-old and husband Joe. Joe Swash is said to have been upset after the family holiday Credit: BBC Stacey’s sister Jemma joined them on the trip This year Stacey and co headed to the very pricey Regnum The Crown, which could set you back £1k a night, with sister Jemma and her family and influencer pal Perrie Sian and her partner – and it ended up being a very different trip to usual. My insider said: “Stacey and Joe have a family holiday every year but this time Joe was left feeling a bit miffed. “He felt like it had become like a brand trip almost, Stacey, Jemma and Perrie were constantly making videos. It felt at times like the content creation was taking over and Joe was looking forward to a chilled family holiday. “There seemed to be some tension between Stacey and Joe because of it. “This year Joe footed the bill. Everyone thinks they always get the trip for free but they don’t and it costs a lot. Joe shelled out a lot of cash and felt a bit resentful that the holiday was taking over with influencer behaviour.” The insider added that it might not have been the holiday they needed after a difficult year, which has been rife with fears for their marriage. It’s no secret that 2026 has been Stacey Solomon’s year – she’s had a series of new high profile jobs, but behind the scenes, things have been noticeably tougher for hubbie Joe. This week The Sun told how Stacey has not only been picked again to be one of the celebrity “guessers” on The Masked Singer, but she’s also being lined up to be the new co-host of The Voice alongside Alesha Dixon. Not surprisingly, Stacey’s empire alone is worth a staggering £10 million – up from £7.4m in the previous year, and it just keeps on growing. Latest accounts show the TV favourite has £7.5m tied up in investments and £1.6m in cash. Joe is sitting on his own personal fortune, thought to be around £2m, but I’m told the EastEnders actor has been taking a series of proactive steps to keep up with Stacey. Our insider said: “Joe was once the more famous one of the couple but that has really shifted in recent years. “Stacey definitely is the more business-minded out of them both and has helped Joe a lot. “He has moved management twice recently and is really hoping things take off for him in the same way it has for her. “There is no doubt that the discrepancy between their careers and earnings could cause friction and lead to Joe feeling sidelined. In the past the couple have been very honest about rough patches. “Stacey and Joe are in a really good place at the moment and everyone is hoping nothing rocks that. By the time he met Stacey in 2016, he had been declared bankrupt twice over unpaid tax bills – once in 2009 and the second in 2013. Perhaps because of that Stacey made the decision early on to keep things separate when it came to money and to insist that Joe contributed. While TV work hasn’t been as constant, Joe is also planning to build a two-acre fishing lake, complete with glamping pods. It’s his biggest solo venture to date and perhaps his most risky move yet to help secure his own financial future, without relying on Stacey. Late last year both he and Stacey made the decision to leave the highly reputable talent management agency YMU. Joe then signed to Off Limits – a company best known for their work with reality stars, from Love Island stars Chris Hughes and Lucinda Strafford to pop star Jesy Nelson. But just five months later he has moved on again and is now working with the agency InterTalent. A source added: “Joe is very loyal and trusts his agent, so it makes sense that he moved too.” As well as working on his lake, Joe is also in advanced talks to take part in the fifth series of Celebrity Race Across The World — but not with his missus. Bosses are instead hoping he’ll agree to do the BBC reality show with his son, Harry. Harry has always opted to keep out of the family’s BBC reality series, Stacey & Joe. Their reality show launched to 4.2million viewers in April last year, with a second series last September. The BBC has commissioned a third series of the show, despite scrutiny after The Sun’s revelation that the couple’s lavish 2022 wedding wasn’t made legal. Following the news, Stacey took to social media to tell her six million followers the pair had always been clear it was a “religious ceremony and blessing” in their garden. The show gave fans an insight into their lives and their relationship came under scrutiny more than ever. Joe was slammed for being a “man-child” and for failing to offer Stacey the support she needed. Stacey was pictured multiple times with and without her wedding ring, and addressed speculation, saying: “Who cares if the whole world is like: Oh, they’re on the brink of divorce? “Being in the public eye I think creates certain pressures, but not on our relationship. “Half the time what they’re saying… if we know it’s not true, who cares? “Sometimes I fancy the pants off him and can’t wait to come home to see him. “Sometimes I’m like: Get out of my stratosphere – stay away from me! “I think we’re just like any other couple!” And it looks like they might be ending the year with a fresh start completely. The couple could be set to upgrade their Pickle Cottage home to a sprawling mansion. Currently the property is solely in her name instead of being jointly shared with husband Joe. They have set their sights on an impressive eight-bedroom Victorian mansion, which is said to be central to DIY influencer Stacey’s next renovation project and insiders say Joe is likely to go in on this property. It will be a huge change for the family, but it looks like it could be a move in the right direction for all of them. Joe and Stacey’s reps have been contacted for comment.
