Temperatures to drop across Egypt on Sunday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts slight decrease in temperatures across most of the country on Sunday, with hot and humid conditions persisting during the day in most areas. The weather will be slightly hot and humid during the early morning hours, becoming hot and humid during the day across most of the country, with temperatures peaking in Upper Egypt. Temperatures are expected to decrease by evening in most areas. The EMA noted that the maximum temperature in Greater Cairo will reach 35C, reaching 39C in southern Upper Egypt. The northern coast will see temperatures of 31C, and northern Upper Egypt will reach 35C. Weather maps warned of rough sea conditions along some beaches in Marsa Matrouh, Alexandria, al-Alamein, al-Dabaa, and Kafr el-Sheikh, with wind speeds reaching between 30-45 km/h and waves reaching heights of two to three meters. Winds will be active occasionally across most areas, with speeds ranging between 30-35 km/h. These winds may stir up sand and dust in some areas of the northwestern coast, the Western Desert, Upper Egypt, and parts of the Red Sea Governorate. The EMA advised citizens in these areas to wear facemasks, especially those with respiratory conditions. There is a slight chance of light rainfall in parts of the northern coast, northern Lower Egypt, and North Sinai, at intervals, with a probability of approximately 20 percent. The EMA urged the public to follow its updates and take the necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of the expected weather phenomena. Edited translation from Al-Masry Al-Youm
