Arif Election authorities have formally filed a police complaint against the person who had applied for bulk deletion of voters in Musheerabad constituency under false declaration on Form-7, as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls. The complaint followed instructions from Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy to all the District Election Officers for action against the applicants who have knowingly made false statement of declaration in the Forms 6, 6A, 7 & 8 under the provisions of the Section 31 of the Representation of People Act, 1950. All the names mentioned in the forms were Muslim, leading to accusations about deliberate attempt to target the community. Similar stories emerging from other States fuelled the suspicions.Claims and Objections phase of the SIR process comes to a conclusion on October 7, 2026, while the deadline for disposal of the same is November 5, 2026.
