Revanth Reddy announced a full-fledged inquiry into the incidents that occurred from Sunday (September 6, 2026), including the alleged conspiracy behind the alleged abusive remarks made by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLCs against Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.Hyderabad City Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar will head the investigation, which would cover the sequence of events leading to the alleged remarks against the Speaker and examine whether there was any larger conspiracy behind the incidents. The announcement was made in the Assembly on Wednesday (September 9), during a discussion on the purification of roads, used by Congress Dalit activists to reach BRS president and Opposition Leader K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s farmhouse in Erravelli, by BRS workers with turmeric water on Wednesday.“The government would investigate not only those who allegedly made the offensive remarks but also those who planned and participated in the alleged conspiracy, he said. A comprehensive investigation will be conducted, criminal cases will be registered and those responsible will be punished,” he said. The House condemned the incident stating that it was a crime and an attack on the self-respect of Dalits and the Telangana society. The Chief Minister alleged that the BRS had conspired at a farmhouse to provoke its legislators to disrupt the Assembly proceedings as it feared that discussions would expose the corruption, irregularities in the education sector, Dharani and the debts during the BRS regime.“Those who attack Parliament, Kasab who carried out the Mumbai attacks, terrorists responsible for the Pulwama attack and those who insult the Speaker with casteist mindset cannot be treated very differently,” he said, in reference to the alleged derogatory comments of BRS MLCs.He alleged that some BRS members not only attacked officials but also insulted the dignity of the Speaker’s chair and made remarks against Mr. Prasad and his mother. The Chief Minister said Dalit communities had traditionally used the ‘dappu’ as a means of expressing their feelings and alleged that, unlike the conduct of the BRS legislators in the Assembly, the protesters who went to Erravellihad neither abused nor humiliated KCR. They had gone there to express their opposition on the casteist remarks. He alleged that instead of inviting the representatives inside and addressing their grievances, Mr. Rao’s supporters had ordered the ‘purification’ of the ground where Dalits had walked, which he described as a grave insult. “Are we living in a democracy or are we behaving like demons from the Stone Age?” he asked.Mr. Reddy accused the BRS leadership of attempting to create social unrest and turn differences into hostility between communities. “If you purify the land walked upon by Dalits, how will you cleanse the untouchability accumulated in your minds?” he asked.
