Teens charged with murder of young child in Southland

Two 19-year-olds have been charged with the murder of a young child in Southland.The child was taken to hospital in a critical condition after emergency services were called to a property in Otautau on Sunday night.They were flown to Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland where they died on Wednesday.The man and woman have appeared at the Invercargill District Court today where bail was denied and the matter was moved to the high court.The pair first appeared in court on Monday charged with causing grievous bodily harm.Police have launched a homicide investigation.They have interim name suppression.More to come...
