TWO teenage cousins who have been missing for four months have been found dead, sparking a renewed probe into their suspected murder. The trio reportedly had an argument in the early hours of the morning before leaving the nightclub in Paranavai, Parana, at around 1.10am. New clues in the case suggest that the teen cousins were murdered between 4.00 and 4.40am on the night of their disappearance on April 21. Remains discovered in a rural area near Paraiso do Norte on Friday 21 August are believed to be those of Letycia and Sttela. Although forensics has not officially identified the bodies. The breakthrough discovery was made after cops arrested an alleged accomplice – nicknamed Magrao – who told police where he had helped bury the bodies. Police have also released CCTV footage believed to be from the night of their alleged murder. There were verbal threats that one would kill the other, with disagreements over one wanting to stay with the other, as well as commercial and financial issues.” Police then claim that Antonio da Silva Cruz pulled out a gun and ordered the girls out of the truck. One of the teenagers tried to fight him – but the suspected thug and drug-dealer allegedly shot her in the head. When the other girl tried to flee, she was shot and killed also. Investigators believe that the suspected gunman then bundled the bodies into his pickup truck and dumped them in a sugar-cane field. His long-time partner in crime, Magrao, then allegedly helped the Antonio da Silva Cruz dig a grave for the dead bodies. Cops only discovered the whereabouts of the bodies after arresting Magrao – who confessed to his role in the horror crime. Prime suspect Antonio da Silva Cruz had been on the run since April – but officers finally caught up with him on August 21. They had followed his trail from a separate crime – a vehicle-robbery investigation. When the cops cornered him, the suspect broke into a house and allegedly held a family hostage in a bid to avoid arrest. Police killed him while trying to take him into custody. The investigation into the alleged double murder – and the motive of the suspected killer – is still underway. Comment now
