But the tribute to the club managed by title character Ted, played by Jason Sudeikis, has been given the red card by angry supporters. Sign up for the TV newsletter Thank you! One wrote online: “90 f*****g biffs for a shirt from a fake team. Made worse with a fake sponsor.” It is slightly cheaper at $100 (£74) if bought in the US, but is still as unpopular Stateside. One supporter commented: “I hate how expensive they’ve made them. “Throw in it’s 100 dollars for a fake team and you should have your head examined of you bought one. Shame on you, Nike.” The design is part of Nike’s elite Dri-FIT collection — with other teams in the range including England, Barcelona and Tottenham. The product description reads: “This Nike AFC Richmond home shirt for the 26/27 season is a men’s replica cut that puts you right there with the squad. Take it to the ground, throw it on for a kickabout in the park, or wear it to the pub when the match is on.” Most read in Sport In the Premier League, only Tottenham’s shirt, also costing £90, is as pricey as the AFC Richmond top. The show returns for a fourth series on Apple from today, with Jason returning as Ted to coach AFC Richmond’s women’s team. British actress Hannah Waddingham is also back as club owner Rebecca Welton. Comment now
