TBG Celebrates Decade of Relationship Capital, Social Impact

The Thursday Business Group (TBG) will tomorrow celebrate its tenth anniversary with a Founders’ Day Dinner and Awards Night in Lagos, marking a decade of evolution from an informal gathering of like-minded individuals into an organised network of entrepreneurs, professionals, executives and business leaders. Speaking ahead of the anniversary, the Guv’nor of TBG, Femi Adeyeye, described the milestone as an opportunity to consolidate the Group’s achievements and reposition it for a more ambitious phase of growth and impact. “Ten years ago, our vision was to bring people together around trusted relationships, shared interests and mutual opportunity. Today, TBG has grown into a community with a broader purpose. Our ambition is to translate the strength of our network and the relationship capital we have built into greater business opportunities, strategic investments, stronger institutions and sustainable impact,” Adeyeye said. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Tope Akande, said the organisation’s next phase would focus on strengthening its institutional structures, deepening responsible leadership and ensuring its sustainability beyond individual administrations. According to him, TBG’s evolution demonstrates the importance of shared vision, consistency, trust and collective commitment in building institutions capable of enduring beyond their founders and successive leadership cycles. “A group’s success should not be measured merely by the number of years it has existed, but by the institutions it builds, the value it creates, the opportunities it enables and the legacy it leaves behind. Our responsibility is to ensure that TBG’s next decade is defined by stronger governance, purposeful investments, enterprise development and greater contributions to society,” Akande said.
