Published Aug 31, 2026, 12:38 PM EDT As Lioness heads into the final three episodes of the season, one of the stars of Taylor Sheridan's spy thriller has revealed that the series is about to debut a never-before-seen army weapon in an upcoming episode. Lioness debuted in 2023, with Zoe Saldaña cast as CIA officer Joe McNamara, who oversees the agency's Lioness program. Paramount+ is in the middle of releasing the third season, with the finale scheduled for September 20. Various cast members have already teased that fans should expect a major cliffhanger at the end of the season, among other shocking moments. Now, in an interview with ScreenRant's Liam Crowley, LaMonica Garrett is opening up about the rest of Lioness season 3. There will not be a shortage of ammunition, he revealed. Some of the earlier episodes in the season were dialogue-heavy so that fans could understand the stakes that the characters would be going through and to set up all the pieces for what's to come. Now "the action is about to rev up," according to Garrett. His character, Tucker, will be using a gun that's never been seen on camera before. In fact, it's so new that after Garrett posted a photo about it on social media, actual members of the Army reached out to him to say, "We don't even have that gun yet!" The scene in question has Sheridan's "fingerprint written all over it, given how it transforms." The actor didn't divulge any more information because he didn't want to spoil too much for the fans. "What I can tease is there won't be a shortage of ammunition. Episodes 3 and 4 were more dialogue-driven, to learn what's going on, to know the stakes, and to see the players. But the action is about to rev up, and there won't be a shortage of ammunition. "The gun that Tucker uses in one of these episodes coming up? That's the first time it's been seen on camera. I took a picture of it and posted it on social media when we were shooting, and I had people in the army reaching out like, 'Man, we don't even have that gun yet!' It's a sweet gun. It's a great scene, and it's a scene that has Taylor's fingerprint written all over it, given how it transforms. So, that's something [I can say] without giving away too much." Before landing the role of Tucker on Lioness, Garrett had appeared in movies like Transformers: Dark of the Moon and the TV shows Sons of Anarchy, Designated Survivor, The Last Ship, The Terminal List and the Arrowverse franchise. The actor joined Sheridan's Western 1883, the first Yellowstone spinoff that aired in 2021 and 2022. While there was only one season of 1883, Sheridan then kept Garrett in mind when he created Lioness, and he ended up playing Tucker. Sheridan went on to launch multiple spinoffs, including 1923, Marshals and Dutton Ranch. During the currently airing Lioness season 3, which has an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, Tucker has been involved in some major operations with Joe and Bobby. In the most recent episode, a lot of the storyline continued to show what happened before Joe's capture. As part of Operation Treasure, the team has been attempting to find out the truth behind who attacked Joe's house. She also gave some Russian assets the opportunity to flip and become sources for them. Meanwhile, after her kidnapping, she realized that she'd been taken to Texas. Now, with only three episodes left in the season, Joe, Tucker and the rest of the team are about to face some of their biggest obstacles yet, but based on Garrett's brand-new comments, Tucker will at least have a never-before-seen gun to help him through it.
