Tap Kuppam’s tourism potential, promote local entrepreneurship, Naidu tells investors

Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said investors and stakeholders should focus on leveraging Kuppam’s vast tourism potential, creating tourism infrastructure, promoting investments and expanding employment opportunities for local youth.Addressing a meeting with local entrepreneurs here, Mr. Naidu called for initiatives with the goal of ‘One Family-One Entrepreneur’ to groom at least one entrepreneur from every family and foster a startup culture among the youth.“Opportunities in tourism and adventure tourism should be identified and developed,” he said. He called for a study to identify industries that could be set up locally, the technology they would require and the preparation of a comprehensive report.Mr. Naidu said startups should be identified based on local needs and the skills of the youth. He suggested setting up a startup incubation centre to provide mentorship on business ideas, technology, management and growth. “The incubation programme should provide three months of training and guidance,” he said.Mr. Naidu said entrepreneurship skills should be introduced into the curriculum from Class 7 so that students complete their education with a startup idea. Such programmes should enhance creativity, business acumen, innovative thinking and confidence among the youth, enabling them to become job creators rather than job seekers and generate livelihoods locally.
