Fresh off a breakthrough title victory, the 17-year-old Punjab shuttler demonstrated tactical maturity and grit to maintain her winning streak.Seeded third in the tournament, Tanvi opened her campaign with a clinical 21-16, 21-15 victory over China's Yuan Anqi in 36 minutes. She followed it up in the round of 16 with a hard-fought three-game battle against compatriot Shriyanshi Valishetty, prevailing 21-16, 17-21, 21-13 to secure her place in the final eight. Guided court-side by former national coach Park Tae-sang, Tanvi's signature combination of steep cross-court smashes and deceptive net drops proved decisive in crucial rallies.Tanvi will take on fellow Indian Rakshitha Sree in the quarterfinal on Friday.The quarterfinal qualification marks yet another milestone in a rapid rise that has seen Tanvi make a significant leap in the BWF global rankings. Her stellar string of performances propelled her past the World No. 30 threshold, firmly establishing her as one of the most promising young talents in senior women's singles. The foundation for this golden run was laid just days earlier at the Taipei Open Super 300, where Tanvi clinched her maiden BWF World Tour title. Entering the tournament unseeded, the youngster put on a masterclass throughout the week, culminating in a dominant 21-16, 21-16 victory over Vietnam's sixth seed Nguyen Thuy Linh in the summit clash. The 36-minute final saw Tanvi dictate rallies with her trademark steep drop shots and sharp attacking angles, becoming the youngest finalist in the tournament's history.Her historic triumph in Taipei made her only the fourth Indian women's singles player, after Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu, and Devika Sihag, to lift a BWF Super 300 or higher crown. More symbolically, she became the first Indian since her idol Saina Nehwal in 2008 to win the Taipei Open women's singles title. The title marked a major career breakthrough for the former World Junior No. 1, providing the momentum for her current campaign in South Korea. Tanvi, however, will not be in action in the World Championships, starting August 17.
