However, its true origins date back much further to older European literary works such as the 17th-century Italian tale Petrosinella (1634) and even a 10th-century Persian epic titled Shahnameh. Disney's 2010 animated movie Tangled reinvented the story and became an instant favorite for fans, and now will be getting the live-action remake treatment. New set photos have been released as filming is underway in Ciudad de la Luz studios in Alicante. The new photos come after photos were shown of Teagen Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider on set of the remake in their full costumes. Fans are still remaining skeptical of the upcoming remake due to the most recent, Moana, being a major box office flop and disappointment for longtime fans of the animated franchise. This wouldn't be the first time a remake has flopped for Disney, with Snow White also facing even worse pushback from audiences.
