Photo Credit: Special Arrangement Colachel Congress MLA Tharahai Cuthbert, who has been elected as the leader of the party in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, has been allotted a seat in the front row along with leaders of other opposition parties.When she raised a question from the front row on Monday (August 31, 2026), DMK MLA and the party’s whip in the Assembly E.V. Velu asked Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar to consider their request to allot front-row seats to senior members including M.H. Jawahirullah and Thameemun Ansari.The Speaker said although he had taken the decision based on the symbols on which the members had contested the election, he would consider Mr. Velu’s request and announce his decision at an appropriate time.
