However, these plans were thwarted by Cyberleek, a mysterious group or individual who started uploading full GTA 6 gameplay clips online. It quickly became apparent that they had a playable build of the game themselves, despite the ridiculous steps Take-Two and Rockstar have taken to keep the game under wraps. Now, Cyberleek has gone dark, and Take-Two might be closer to identifying them. As reported by TorrentFreak (thanks, VGC), Take-Two has filed a second subpoena in relation to Discord, this time requesting data on two specific Discord users as part of its search for Cyberleek. Take-Two Narrows Its Subpoena Against Discord Down To Two Users Rockstar As noted by TorrentFreak, this subpoena was issued last Friday. The details are being kept secret, with the filing almost completely redacted. This is different from previous subpoenas against Discord, Microsoft, and YouTube, of which we could read freely and see what information Take-Two was after. In its explanation for why this filing needs to be redacted, Take-Two argues that public disclosure could "compromise" the ongoing investigation, and "tip off the alleged infringers". In other words, Take-Two doesn't want Cyberleek knowing if it's getting close to identifying them, making it harder for them to cover their tracks. Take-Two additionally refers to the investigation into Cyberleek as "rapidly evolving and ongoing", with this new subpoena request seeking different information than the first. Specifically, this filing is in relation to two users, one new, and one previously identified. We're also told that the subpoena against YouTube has been dropped, so that is no longer relevant to the investigation. The previous subpoena requested information on a Discord server owned by YouTuber DarkViperAU. It's unclear if this is still part of the investigation's scope. As it stands, we know next to nothing about Cyberleek. All we do know is that they appeared to be playing the game, or at least acted on behalf of someone who was. They were constantly requesting donations through their own crypto coin, only to bail shortly before Rockstar officially unveiled GTA 6 footage through Netflix and YouTube. It remains to be seen if Discord complies with this subpoena, and to what extent. We've previously heard that Discord is yet to hand anything over to Take-Two, but that could change quickly as this investigation progresses. In any case, Take-Two will want answers soon, ideally before GTA 6 launches on November 19.
