Tajikistan celebrates its 35th independence anniversary

However, the anniversary is also an opportunity for the country to look ahead. ADVERTISEMENT ADVERTISEMENT President Emomali Rahmon has set out his ambitions for a more industrial, technology-driven economy that is supported by green energy, modern infrastructure and a stronger workforce. Government officials emphasised sustained economic growth, energy security and accelerated industrialisation as key priorities, while investors highlighted the country’s substantial hydropower potential and significant projects, such as the Rogun Dam. The programme also examined Tajikistan’s efforts to strengthen its international relationships and attract new investment. Both officials and investors saw the anniversary as an opportunity to shape Tajikistan’s next chapter with renewed purpose. The celebrations culminated in a concert at Dushanbe’s new National Stadium.
