Syria condemns Israeli attacks, demands withdrawal from territory

The Syrian Ambassador to the UN has condemned Israel's continued assaults on Syrian territory, calling on a full withdrawal from the country. During an address to the UN’s Sixth Committee, Ibrahim Olabi said that Israel's actions "undermine state efforts to restore security, stability, and combat terrorism", creating a "fragile environment for terrorism". Olabi demanded an "immediate cessation" of the attacks as well as a "full withdrawal from all occupied Syrian territories". Israel has repeatedly violated Syrian territory since the fall of the Assad regime in late 2024, with numerous incursions, detentions and attacks taking place in the country. Early on Monday, the Israeli army killed a man in southern Syria, amid ongoing military raids.
