Sydney Sweeney's New Sleepy Hollow Adaptation Finds Her Male Lead

After wrapping up her work on Euphoria season 3, Sweeney is confirmed to star in a new Legend of Sleepy Hollow adaptation from filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer. Based on Beer's forthcoming novel, the film will see Sweeney starring as Katrina Van Tassel, with the search for her male costar having gotten underway earlier this year. The search is reportedly now over, with Deadline reporting that Off Campus star Belmont Cameli said to have joined Sweeney in Hollow as Bones. The movie, which hails from Margot Robbie's LuckyChap, Sweeney's Honey Trap, and Beer's Lab Brew, adapts The Legend of Sleepy Hollow from Katrina's perspective, positioning her as the central figure in a dangerous mystery and seductive supernatural love triangle with a gothic atmosphere. Ichabod, of course, serves as the protagonist in Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and in Tim Burton's 1999 adaptation starring Johnny Depp. The Burton movie was a modest success, grossing $206 million worldwide. Cameli is best known for starring as Garrett Graham in Prime Video's Off Campus, a romantic drama about the unexpected love story between a music student and a star hockey player. The series was a massive hit, drawing 36 million viewers in its first 12 days of streaming, on top of earning strong reviews. The show currently has a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. Sweeney, on the other hand, is coming off of the success of The Housemaid (2025), and she also recently starred in Christy (2025). The Euphoria star remains as busy as ever, appearing in controversial advertisements, on top of films like Madame Web (2024), Immaculate (2024), and Eden (2024). More to come...
