Swimming record smashed at CAC Games

(Photo Credit: BASA) The Barbadian swimming quartet of Amani Miller, Heidi Stoute, Danielle Treasure and Jake Chee-A-Tow, set a new national record in the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay, as the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games continued in the Dominican Republic on Friday. Competing in heat one, the Barbadians finished third after stopping the clock in a time of 3:44.42, which obliterated the old record of 3:38.16, which was set in August 2025. In hockey, the men’s team was defeated 3-0 by Mexico in Group A action. Two Barbadian wrestlers competed on Friday. Nathan Pond, an 86kg competitor, was beaten 10-0 by Kevin De Leon of Mexico, before winning 5-0 by forfeit over Puerto Rico’s Ethan Ramos. Pond was also defeated by Christopher Foca of the Dominican Republic, while Mexico’s Leonard Guerrero beat Barbadian 125kg competitor Emmerson Hurley 4-0. (KH)
