Swara Bhasker reacts as Mumbai police arrests husband Fahad from CJP protest site

Actor Swara Bhasker on Monday alleged that her husband and political activist Fahad Ahmad, along with other protesters, was detained by Mumbai Police during a demonstration at Chaityabhoomi in Dadar. Claiming that they were being held at Mahim Police Station, Bhasker called the incident a "shameful state of affairs".In a video shared by Bhasker on Monday evening, Ahmad can be seen being taken away by the police. He is heard questioning the officers, asking, "Why are you arresting me?" The video was reportedly recorded at around 4:30 pm on Monday.Sharing the clip, Bhasker wrote, "Mumbai Police detaining @fahadzirarahmad and other protestors at #chaityabhoomi in Mumbai on 20 July 2026, at 4:30 pm. They are currently being detained at Mahim Police Station. This is India's democracy. Some protesters were also reportedly injured during the police action, although the exact number of those detained or injured has not been confirmed.The detentions in Mumbai came as the CJP held a 'Sansad Chalo' protest in Delhi, drawing thousands of demonstrators.
