Suspected food poisoning: Health officials inspect beverage outlet in Kannur

Officials of the Health and Food Safety departments conducted an inspection at a popular beverage outlet at Caltex here on Wednesday (September 23, 2026) following complaints of suspected food poisoning from people who consumed cocktail from the establishment.Health officials said several people, including children, had reportedly sought medical treatment after developing health issues. Those who reportedly suffered food poisoning are under observation. Health officials said samples from the outlet would be sent for testing.The complaints reportedly pertain to an incident on September 21, 2026, when seven members of a family from Kannur consumed cocktail from the outlet and subsequently developed health problems.They reportedly sought treatment at the Kolachery primary health centre.
