ONE in four people are bored in their relationship — and women tire faster than men, research shows. More than a third of ladies admitted they got fed up between the first and third year of being with a partner. And scientists found almost all jaded couples attempted to get the spark back by trying new things — both in and out of the bedroom. But study author Dr Kristen Mark, of the University of Minnesota, said many saw it as a normal experience. Writing in the Journal of Sex Research, study author Dr Mark said: “Boredom is a common experience. “Around a third of our participants reported experiencing boredom in their current relationship, while another third stated that they were not bored. Most read in Health “Participants expressed that boredom was a normal experience in long-term romantic relationships, stressing that relationship boredom ebbs and flows. “Key milestones associated with increased relationship boredom included [living together] and having children. “More than a third of women reported that their boredom developed between years one and three of the relationship, whereas men’s boredom tended to develop later, beyond year five.” Comment now
