WITH only 100 days to go until Christmas, a major UK supermarket has slashed the price of festive chocolate tubs. Until September 29, Tesco shoppers can secure a 550g tub of Quality Street for £3.95. The Christmas chocolate boxes, containing the likes of the Toffee Penny, Green Triangle and The Purple One, have a starting price of a hefty £7. Meanwhile, a 500g Celebrations Milk Chocolate Tub has also been slashed from £7 to £3.95. That means sweet treat lovers can save £3.05 on the mix of mini bars of Bounty, Twix, Mars, Snickers, Malteser, Milky Way and Galaxy Caramel. With just a few paydays to go before the big day, the Tesco deal means customers can save on festive must-haves early. The price cuts come after consumers were left furious by the drastic size decreases across their favourite Christmas chocs. As for Celebrations, shoppers could snag 650g tubs last year – while the 2026 stock offers just 500g per tub. Responding to the shrinkflation claims, a Mars Wrigley UKI spokeswoman said: “To keep our products affordable amid global cost pressures, we’ve had to adjust some of our product sizes, including Celebrations. “It’s not a decision we take lightly, but our priority is always to provide the great-tasting treats consumers know and love, at prices they can afford.” Comment now
