Supermarket giant drops 550g Christmas tubs to just £3.95 – making it the cheapest place to buy

A MAJOR supermarket has slashed the price of a popular 550g tub of chocolates – making it the cheapest place to pick them up. The sweet treat is ideal for handing out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween or storing away for Christmas. The deal is running until October 6, so shoppers have over a month to shop the discount if they wish. It makes it the cheapest supermarket to shop the purple octagonal tins, after Morrisons, who is charging £4.95 when you scan your More Card. Asda has slashed the price of the tins to £4 over the weekend, but the offer has now expired with the price now set at £5.72. Meanwhile, Tesco is charging £7 for the tubs or £4.50 with a Clubcard. Supermarkets tend to run offers on chocolate and other sweets in the run-up to Christmas so it is always worth keeping your eyes peeled. Sainsbury’s has also slashed the price of its Cadbury Heros and Roses tubs from £6.50 to £4.95, when you scan your Nectar card. Most read in Money At Tesco, Celebration tubs have been reduced to £3.95 down from £7 with a Clubcard. It comes as the famous festive chocs have shrunk in size in recent years. Quality Street has been reduced from 600g to 550g, with chocs going down from approximately 63 chocs to 57. Meanwhile, tubs of Roses, Heroes and Celebrations have reduced by up to 14 per cent from 2025. Chocolate makers have blamed economic pressures and higher costs for the change. Comment now
