Super Mario Officially Returns January 2027

The next round of Super Mario-themed LEGO sets is coming in January. The franchise already has more than a few LEGO tie-ins, including an electronic playset that allows you to build your own Super Mario levels, and a realistic, poseable recreation of Mario cruising around in his iconic go-kart. Through it all, though, LEGO fans have raised one issue: Mario and company have yet to appear in minifigure form, taking on the same shape and size as typical LEGO figures with moveable limbs and removeable heads. That may be subject to change soon, though, as a new LEGO series will hit shelves soon. Eight new LEGO Super Mario sets will be released on January 1, 2027, introducing 10 new minifigures: Super Mario, Surfing Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Koopa Troopa, Toad, Cow, and Fire Flower versions of both Mario and Luigi. The sets range from $9.99 for the 64-piece Mario's Pipe Jump set to $99.99 for the 850-piece Fire Mario & Bowser's Castle. These eight sets include some of the most iconic locations, characters, and concepts from the series, drawing from mainline Super Mario in addition to the Mario Kart spinoff series. The list of sets, prices, and the minifigures they include is as follows: Mario's Pipe Jump: $9.99 (includes Mario) Mario's Beach Adventures: $19.99 (includes Surfing Mario) Luigi & Bowser Jr.'s Race: $29.99 (includes Luigi, Bowser Jr.) Racing with Mario: $14.99 (includes Mario) Yoshi at Mario's House: $39.99 (includes Mario, Yoshi) Bowser's Rumbling Race: $59.99 (includes Bowser, Toad, Cow) Fire Luigi vs. Koopa Troopa Battle: $29.99 (includes Fire Luigi, Koopa Troopa) Fire Mario & Bowser's Castle: $99.99 (includes Fire Mario, Bowser) The sets were revealed as part of Gamescom, the annual video game trade fair held in Cologne, Germany.
