Sundowns star Mokoena attracts interest from Saudi giants

According to a source, Mokoena is keen for a move outside South Africa. Teboho Mokoena and his agent, Glyn Binkin are said to be pushing for a move away from the club, , with Al-Ahli Saudi reportedly interested in the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder.It has emerged that the Saudi Pro League side sees Mokoena as a potential replacement for Franck Kessié, who recently left the club to join Atalanta in Italy. Mokoena still has three years remaining on his contract with the Brazilians. So, if Al-Ahli really want to sign him, they will have to pay a huge transfer fee to Sundowns. But Saudi clubs have shown in the past that they are willing to break the bank for players.According to a source, Mokoena is keen for a move outside South Africa.“Tebza (Teboho Mokoena) has won everything with Sundowns including the CAF Champions League, so now he wants to explore new opportunities. He has always wanted to play overseas and he believes that the time has come for him to go out there and test himself against the best,” said the source.His agent, Binkin, has also been quoted in the media as saying that the midfielder has done everything in South Africa and the time had come for him to ply his trade somewhere else.Meanwhile, Egyptian giants Al-Ahly are also believed to be interested in signing Mokoena although they have not made any formal bid to Sundowns.
