Sun King Expands Solar Inverter Range, Launches Solar-Powered Freezer Sun King, a leading global off-grid solar energy company, has expanded its range of solar inverter systems in Nigeria and formally launched PowerFreeze, a solar-powered freezer designed to provide reliable refrigeration for households and businesses. The new products were unveiled at an event in Lagos attended by customers, partners and government representatives, with discussions focusing on the growing role of solar energy in meeting the power needs of Nigerian homes and businesses. The expansion significantly broadens Sun King’s PowerHub portfolio, which now ranges from 2.2 kVA to 30 kVA, providing solar energy solutions for users ranging from small households to large businesses, schools, healthcare facilities and light industrial operations. In addition to the existing 2.2 kVA and 3.3 kVA systems, Sun King has introduced new PowerHub options of 5 kVA, 10 kVA, 15 kVA and 30 kVA. The systems are designed to be scalable, allowing customers to select the inverter capacity, battery storage, and solar panels that meet their immediate requirements and subsequently expand their systems as their energy needs increase without having to replace their existing installations. According to the company, the expanded range responds to the growing demand among Nigerian households and businesses for reliable alternatives to grid electricity and fuel-powered generators. The higher-capacity systems can support more energy-intensive requirements, including air conditioning and business operations, while the larger configurations provide sufficient capacity to power entire buildings such as schools, clinics, commercial premises and light industrial facilities. Speaking at the launch, Country Business Leader, Nigeria, Sun King, Lisbon Ogunsanmi, said the expanded portfolio gives customers greater flexibility to adopt solar energy according to their needs and financial capacity. “Our rooftop solar range now runs from a hyper-affordable solar home system all the way to 30 kVA of inverter power,” Ogunsanmi said. “Customers can start where their budget is, expand as they grow, and stay with one company throughout. That is big energy: power that keeps up with your ambitions, whatever their scale.” Sun King also formally introduced PowerFreeze, a standalone solar-powered refrigeration and freezing system developed to address one of the major consequences of unreliable electricity supply: food spoilage. For many Nigerian households, traders, restaurants and other food businesses, keeping food reliably refrigerated often requires running petrol or diesel generators during power outages, adding significantly to operating and household expenses. For small food businesses in particular, unreliable refrigeration can affect profitability, limit the quantity of stock they can keep and increase the risk of losing perishable goods during prolonged outages.
