That might be stating the obvious a little bit, what with the game having sold one million copies within a couple of hours and reached a peak player count of over 400,000 on a school day, but I digress. People are jumping in and enjoying themselves, but due to the fact the game is in early access at the moment, some are finding it a little barebones. Of course, Unknown Worlds is working hard to deliver on the promises that it made about Subnautica 2 being massive, and it's already got quite a few exciting features in the works that it plans to roll out in the near future. Subnautica 2's Roadmap Has Been Partially Revealed Speaking with outlet MP1st, Unknown Worlds laid out a brief preview of what's to come now that the game has been released, with the first update reportedly going to revolve around quality of life improvements. Here's what that update will apparently include: Biomod system Blight encounters Rex gameplay Vehicle docking and fabrication More PDA data bank entries Voice log priority system More passive biomod slots Storage cache Sprint ability Following that, the next update will then reportedly focus on the game's multiplayer elements, with a bunch of features planned to make co-ordination and communication easier. For example, proximity chat is apparently in the works, as is a player emote system, more player customization options, and a revive system. On top of that, improvements will be made to the HUD layout, building tools, and pinned recipe layouts. There are a bunch of pretty promising changes, especially the multiplayer stuff, and then once all of that is settled, Unknown Worlds can look at expanding the game's world. It's a good project to get on board on the ground floor, otherwise, you'll be waiting a good couple of years before you can dive in.
