Ahead of the American Film Market, Studio Dome has snatched up worldwide sales and distribution rights to “Out of Order!,” a legal comedy starring Brandon Routh, Brooke Shields and Luis Guzmán. Guy Jacobson directed and co-wrote the film with Megan Freels Johnston. An official logline for “Out of Order!” reads, “A lawyer trying to turn his life around and win his girlfriend back finds himself in a world of trouble when he takes on a big new case — representing both sides.” Other members of the ensemble cast include Sandra Bernhard, Tao Okamoto, Sam Huntington, Krysta Rodriguez, Asher Grodman and Michael Potts. “Guy has delivered a smart, evergreen, funny take on legal absurdity with a cast that knows how to land a joke. Studio Dome is building a slate of character comedies that travel, and ‘Out of Order!’ fits squarely in that lane,” said Shaked Berenson, founder and CEO of Studio Dome. “Out of Order!” has remained an awards favorite on the festival circuit. It recently completed a four-prize sweep at the 2026 Myrtle Beach International Film Festival, taking home best overall, best feature, best comedy and best actor for Routh. Other U.S. festival honors include the Chelsea Film Festival audience award; best feature and audience award at the Northeast Pennsylvania Film Festival; best feature at Portland Comedy and Sugarloaf; best comedy at Universal, ICP Entertainment and Chicago Indie; and best feature comedy film at Houston Comedy. Routh, best known for starring as the titular Man of Steel in 2006’s “Superman Returns,” recently led the cast of Joseph Kahn’s body-horror comedy “Ick,” and had a voice role in Netflix’s animated mini-series, “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.” His other recent big-screen credits include “A Keller Christmas Vacation,” “Lost Odyssey: Godfall” and “The Redemer.” Guzmán, who recently wrapped production on Season 3 of Netflix’s “Wednesday,” appeared earlier this year as Judge Troppogrosso in Dave Green’s “Coytoe vs. Acme.” His other recent film roles include “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” “Guns Up” and “Havoc.” Shields has been mostly on the small screen as of late, appearing in AcornTV’s “You’re Killing Me,” Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart” and Hulu’s “All Fair.” On the film side, she starred in “Mother of the Bride” and HBO’s “Holiday Harmony.” “Out of Order!” is produced by Guy Jacobson of Priority Films; Isen Robbins and Aimee Schoof of Intrinsic Value Films; Stephen Tedeschi Jr. Of Island View Productions; B. Chris Bongirne; Brandon Routh; Katy Donnelly and Jesse Manning of Business Lunch Productions.
