Students in UP to get monthly mentoring from IAS, IPS, IFS officers

The Uttar Pradesh government has asked IAS, IPS and IFS officers to visit schools every month and interact with intermediate students. Under this new programme, IAS, IPS and IFS officers will visit schools across the state every month to engage in direct interactions with intermediate students.The primary goal of these visits is to provide comprehensive career guidance. Officers will share their experiences and offer strategic advice to students preparing for prestigious competitive examinations, including UPSC, UPPSC, UPSSSC, NDA, JEE, NEET UG and CUET.This hands-on mentoring is expected to demystify the civil services and other professional paths for young aspirants.WHAT WILL THE SESSIONS COVERBeyond exam preparation, the sessions will delve into broader horizons such as higher education opportunities, employment trends, and the growing fields of entrepreneurship and startups. By providing a firsthand look at governance and leadership, the government hopes to inspire students to pursue diverse and ambitious career paths. To ensure the smooth execution of this initiative, a robust administrative framework has been established. District Magistrates (DMs) have been tasked with drafting monthly schedules for officer visits to various schools. The progress and effectiveness of these programmes will be reviewed periodically by Divisional Commissioners.On the ground, the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) will act as the primary coordinator, managing logistics and maintaining communication between the visiting officers and the school administrations.
