Student, 21, dies after plunging from window while on hiking trail as tributes flood in for ‘kind beloved sister’

A STUDENT has died in a freak accident after falling from a window while hiking on a popular trail. Dayanara Nicole Urbina Ruiz, 21, suffered multiple blunt force injuries in the fall and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Just moments beforehand, a friend reportedly phoned 911 to say that Dayanara was “extremely” drunk and running around in the street. However, her family have denied these claims. She went to a music festival. She had fun and like I said, she was very responsible. “She’s not one to get, like she described her, sloppy or too drunk. No, that’s not my sister.” Catherine continued: “My sister is the kind of woman that always puts her priorities first. She was not like that. She was absolutely not like that,” Most read in The Sun Dayanara was studying communications at the prestigious California university and had been working as a summer marketing intern at Amazon Web Services in Seattle. The 21-year-old was the co-president of UCLA’s first fashion club and a beloved member of the Phi Lambda Rho sorority. Her family, the Urbina and Ruiz family, has since launched a GoFundMe to help cover her funeral costs. The fundraiser set a goal of $28,000 and has already raised around $25,000 in just over a week. The description reads: “She was a bright light and a gentle soul. “God bless all who keep Dayanara in their prayers.” Dayanara’s sorority has also paid tribute to the 21-year-old student. A spokesperson for Phi Lambda Rho said: “Omega Chapter gained a new angel. “It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved sister, Dayanara Nicole Urbina Ruiz. “Dayanara was a bright light, a gentle soul, and someone whose kindness touched everyone around her. “She was always there for those in need, offering support, hope, and compassion without hesitation. “Her memory will forever remain a part of our sisterhood, and her impact will continue to live on through the lives she touched.” Comment now
