STRICTLY star Brendan Cole has bravely revealed his fear that he won’t “be able to afford his kids school fees or his house” in five years time. I’m actually brutally honest. However, 14 years later, fans were left shocked when it was revealed the New Zealand dancer had been axed from the show. Most read in Showbiz On the Manopause podcast, he admitted his sudden departure came when he was overheard branding head judge Shirley Ballas, 65, the C-word. “I said that Shirley Ballas was a c**t three times,” Brendan candidly admitted. “Strictly wanted my assurances that I wasn’t going to make a remark like that again. “I wasn’t on air, it wasn’t recorded, it was about somebody. “It wasn’t to their face, but I couldn’t turn around to them and say, ‘OK, I’ll give you my assurances that that won’t happen’. “For me, it was about staying true to myself. “I don’t condone the C-word. And at the time, I apologised for using it but I wasn’t going to backtrack on it and say, ‘Well, it wasn’t true’, because I thought it was true.” Comment now
