Strictly Come Dancing sign up England football legend as they announce latest celeb to join BBC show

STRICTLY Come Dancing has revealed the 10th star that’ll be taking to the dancefloor in the 2026 series. Shaun Wright-Phillips has been unveiled as the Beeb’s latest signing who will be among the cast of ballroom hopefuls when the show returns to screens this Autumn. The tenth Strictly Come Dancing contestant has been unveiled as Sean Wright-Phillips Shaun is known for his impressive football career and has played for England as well as teams such as Manchester City, Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers. Taking to Instagram to share the news, Sean said: “I am very excited to announce, I am joining the class of Strictly Come Dancing 2026. “I’m really hoping I can chuck some shapes and make everyone proud.” Two Love Island champions are taking part this year with series 4 winner Dani Dyer and series 12’s champ star Cach Mercer also on the line-up. Big Brother host Will Best is another star in the mix alongside EastEnders legend Lacey Turner, Brit movie star Jaime Winstone, and Aussie pop star Delta Goodrem. Rounding out the line-up is House Of The Dragon actress Bethany Antonia, Paralympian Sarah Storey and Kim Kardashian‘s hairdresser Chris Appleton. Previously, The Sun exclusively revealed that newly single X Factor hunk Jake Quickenden is also in talks with Strictly bosses – though the BBC is yet to officially announce them as a contestant. The new season also welcomes a brand new presenting line-up of Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe.
