St James Stilettos rallied to a 44-40 victory over Spooners Hill Firebirds in the Diamonds Division, while Steve’s Building Works edged Spooners Hill Firebirds 18-16 in Rubies A as the Barbados Netball Association’s League season continued on Wednesday. St James Stilettos were led by Stefanie Young who converted 42 of her 50 attempts while Nakisha Boyce added 2 from 5. For the Firebirds Chantelle Brathwaite made 25 of her 38 shots, Deeya Forde-Haynes 11 of 18 and Tyra Griffith 4 of 8. In a game of fluctuating fortunes, Stilettos trailed 10-14, 20-22 and 29-31 after the opening three quarters before rallying to win. The game between Steve’s Building Works and Spooners Hill Firebirds was similarly competitive, with the Building Works team grinding out an 18-16 win. Latoya Williams was on target for 10 of her 20 attempts and Dalica Williams 8 of 14. For Spooners Hill Firebirds, Kellyann Knight led the way with 10 of 14 shooting, while Deborah Kellman netted five of her 11 attempts and Joyann Cooke one of three. (KH)
