On December 18, Denis Villeneuve will complete his trilogy of once-thought "unfilmable" adaptations with Dune: Part Three, and the film-watching world will flood into theaters in the millions. Timothée Chalamet's Paul Atreides, haunted by his visions and the holy war fought in his name, will face the consequences of his power as he turns full villain in the upcoming epic. He is joined by a stacked cast that includes Zendaya as Chani, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, and more. There is little doubt that Dune: Part Three will be a critical darling, as many consider it the heir to the title of 2026's best sci-fi film. There will be hope from fans that the film won't disappoint like one of the year's other most anticipated sci-fi projects, as the king of the genre, Steven Spielberg, returned following an eight-year absence. Hope was high for the Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, and Colin Firth-led first-contact tale Disclosure Day, but, alas, reviews were mixed and long-time Spielberg fans were left underwhelmed. "The underlying narrative is remarkably weak and the nuts-and-bolts structure is poorly conceived," wrote one critic, with another adding that the film was "a bit of a disappointment." Despite earning a mixed response, Disclosure Day has proven an enduring hit ever since it moved to streaming. At the time of writing, Spielberg's latest has spent more than 100 days on the Amazon charts in the U.S., a list currently topped by new arrival Verity, Anne Hathaway's adaptation of the Colleen Hoover novel of the same name. Messiah is the book that turns on its own hero, which is why Villeneuve waited to film it. Your crew would follow you anywhere, not because you demand it, but because you've earned it. Kirk's genius isn't tactical, it's human. He reads people, bends rules with purpose, and wills outcomes into existence through sheer conviction. That combination of warmth, audacity, and relentless optimism is unmistakably yours. Your voice carries because your belief is unshakable. You gave up everything ordinary the moment you chose the cause, and you've never looked back. Leia is not a supporting character in her own story. She is the moral center of the entire rebellion. That same fierce, principled, unbreakable core is what defines you. From The Collider File Carrie Fisher was 19 when she shot A New Hope, and Leia's first scene in the saga is a refusal. Lucasfilm ruled out recreating her digitally, so her last appearance was built from footage she had already filmed. Against a reported budget of $115 million, Disclosure Day was sadly one of the big underperformers at this summer's box office, only picking up a global haul of $250 million. Split between $116 million in domestic revenue and a further $131 million from overseas markets, the film currently ranks as the 20th highest-grossing title of 2026, although the aforementioned Dune: Part Three and Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday will most certainly see Disclosure Day fall out of the top 20. Disclosure Day is a streaming hit. Stay tuned to Collider for more.
