Stereotactic Radiation vs Hippocampal-Avoidance Whole Brain Radiation
To the Editor A recent trial conducted at 4 US centers reported that stereotactic radiation improved symptoms and interference with daily functioning compared with hippocampal-avoidance whole brain radiotherapy in patients with 5 to 20 brain metastases. These are important results, but their relevance to health care systems with limited radiotherapy access and constrained treatment infrastructure warrants consideration.
