The King of Horror has had a lasting impact on the entertainment industry, from books and TV shows to movies and even the stage. After publishing his debut novel, Carrie, in 1974, King went on to write such iconic stories as The Shining, Misery, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, It, The Dark Tower and many more. Many authors and filmmakers have been inspired by his works over the years. The MGM+ TV show From, which premiered in 2022, is one such example of King's imprint on horror storytelling, even though he has no involvement with this particular series. With a cast that includes Harold Perrineau, Catalina Sandino Moreno, David Alpay, Elizabeth Saunders and Elizabeth Saunders, From takes place in a mysterious town in which its residents are unable to leave. From Has Debuted To A Scary Big Premiere On Netflix From streams on MGM+, which has already released four seasons. But in the latter half of October, the first three seasons were added to Netflix as part of a limited licensing agreement, and it's already a hit. From season 3 was the best-reviewed installment to date, earning a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score from critics. It has also been nominated multiple times at the Critics' Choice Super Awards, Satellite Awards and Saturn Awards, and won in the category of Best Horror Television Series: Network/Cable at the Saturn Awards. The Stephen King-Inspired Series Is About To Say Farewell From season 4 aired earlier this year on MGM+. Just days before the premiere, the network/streaming service announced that the horror series would be coming to an end after the upcoming fifth season. Production got underway in Nova Scotia, Canada, in July and is expected to wrap at the end of November. A premiere date hasn't been announced yet, but it's possible that the show's farewell will air sometime in 2027. Executive producers Jack Bender and Jeff Pinkner have experience working on popular shows with mythology and massive storylines heavily embedded into their DNA like on Lost, Fringe and Game of Thrones. Now they have the chance to give From a proper conclusion. Until then, fans can check out the first three seasons on Netflix; it's unknown at this time if the fourth season will be added to the streamer leading into the final 10 episodes.
