As reported by VideoCardz, the app has now implemented PlayStation Plus cloud streaming, meaning that you can play supported games from the PS Plus catalog and select digital PS5 games that you already own either on the Steam Deck or Steam Machine without needing a PlayStation console. Other SteamOS and Linux devices are also compatible. "Good news everyone! The PlayTest for Asobi: Remote Play on Steam Deck, Steam Machine, and Linux is live now," Asobi developer ichenzo posted to the app's subreddit. "All premium features are unlocked until the full release becomes available on the Steam Store. Cloud gaming will require a PSN account with an active PS Plus Premium Subscription. Of course, Asobi also supports standard Remote Play, meaning that you can stream from an owned PS4 or PS5 console directly, rather than through the PS Plus cloud streaming service. No Desktop Tinkering Required: Asobi Is Available Via The Steam Store You can request access to the beta through the store page right now, and if accepted, the app is available via Steam itself — no need to quit to desktop and fiddle around with third-party software. Asobi will also be free-to-play when it launches for everyone, making it even easier to access, though it's unclear how much the premium package will cost. The basic free-to-play package supports up to 1080p at 30fps streaming, while the premium upgrade allows you to stream 1080p at 60fps, with HDR support, manual bitrate control, low-latency modes, controller haptics, and 4K upscaling.
